TAMPA, Florida — SCROLL DOWN FOR VIDEO:
DETAILS: The three suspects entered the Nebraska Food Mart when armed suspect #1 jumped the counter and forced the victim to open the cash register. Armed suspect #2 ran behind the counter and pistol whipped victim #1. Suspect #3 entered the store and began opening one of the registers.
They began removing money from the registers and a safe. They ran out of the store and fled south on foot towards Broad Street. Victim #2 was walking towards the store when he encountered the suspects.
One of the suspects shot victim #2 causing serious injuries, but he is expected to survive. The first officer on the scene provided first aid until Tampa Fire Rescue arrived. One of the suspects also shot suspect #3, but he was still able to flee the scene.
Officers found him injured in the area of 12th Street and Norfolk Avenue. He was transported to Tampa General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He has outstanding warrants out of Hernando County for carjacking and grand theft auto. Once medically cleared, he will be charged with armed robbery.
