Around 75 million dollars of the promised money is for the cameras themselves, 50,000 of them. The rest is devoted to storage, training, and outreach programs.
The cameras are meant to provide video evidence where there are accusations of excessive police force or brutality.
The President says this will build trust between police and civilians.
