An Ohio woman has been jailed for allegedly attacking her son with a knife over a dinner dispute.

Police were called Saturday afternoon to Good Samaritan Hospital after a 15-year-old was stabbed by his mother during an argument over food.

A relative told police that the Yolanda Vealsey became upset the prior night, on which she cooked pork chops.

After dinner, Vealsey packaged up four of the pork shops for later meals.

When she woke up Saturday, however, three had been eaten and her son had lied about their whereabouts.

The Vealsey then began throwing knives at the boy, Dayton police said.

The teen said that his mother had been drinking. He attempted to calm her down because “I had knives coming at my face.”

A 12-inch-long kitchen knife had hit his thumb, cutting it open, he said.

He called his aunt to take him to the hospital for the wound, the police report said, as it required stitches.

Yolanda Vealsey’s apartment in the 900 block of Neal Avenue contained the knife reported by her son. The knife had dried blood stains on it and sat it.

A towel sat on the kitchen counter soaked with blood.

Yolanda Vealsey explained to officers that she threw the knife at her son after he son knocked her down.

When officers remarked that that didn’t justify the throwing a deadly weapon, Vealsey replied, “yeah, you’re right.”

Vealsey was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on suspicion of felonious assault and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday morning.
