BERNALILLO, N.M. –The teacher, Benjamin Nagurski was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and carrying a weapon on school grounds.
The student texted their parents: ‘Hey, my teacher pulled a knife on me,’” one of the victim’s family members to KRQE. “Yesterday and today he kept saying, ‘Oh you know what, I could have been dead.’”
The suspect says Nagurski told students they could discuss the problems on the test with peers sitting next to them.
The family says when the boy spoke up, the teacher got upset and threatened him with a steak knife.
Students say the teacher apologized. The suspect was held on $10,000 bond.
