SHELBYVILLE, Tennessee — The victim’s neighbor, 60-year-old William Brace, has been charged with first degree murder.
Lois Jean Espy, 86, was discovered naked and bloody with “obvious trauma” last Monday, Feb. 23.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said Brace is responsible for killing Espy in her Murfreesboro apartment on or around Feb. 22 then dumping her body in Bedford County.
Brace is being held without bond.
Shelbyville is a city in Bedford County, Tennessee, United States. It had a population of 20,335 residents at the 2010 census. Shelbyville, the county seat of Bedford County, was laid out in 1810 and incorporated in 1819.
