DUNEDIN, Fla. —Two people were arrested after an investigation revealed that they allegedly killed their family’s dog, according to WESH.

Deputies arrested Daniel E. Adams, 34, and Lauren M. Curran, 28, on Wednesday after telling law enforcement officials that they, with their child, drove to Daniel Adams’ parents’ Tarpon Springs home to kill the dog.

After killing the 4-year-old Labrador Retriever, Daisy, Daniel Adams told deputies they stole his parents’ iPad to make his parents and police think someone else had committed the crime.

“Adams and Curran both confirmed Curran killed the dog with an intravenous needle filled with an unknown medication,” deputies said in a statement.

Adams and Curran were charged with burglary, cruelty to animals and child abuse.
