St. Louis County Police have arrested 20-year-old Jeffrey Williams, a black male, in connection with the shooting of two police officers early Thursday morning outside of the Ferguson police department.
Officials said in a press conference that the shooter may or may not have been targeting the Officers. Williams is on probation for receiving stolen property.
He did admit to firing the shots.
A .40 caliber handgun, believed to have been used in the attack, has been recovered.
Williams is charged with two counts of first-degree assault among other things.
Officials also said the suspect had been participating in the ongoing demonstrations in Ferguson.

EARLIER REPORT:
SWAT members raided a house and took in 3 people for ‘questioning’ on Dade Avenue in Ferguson, Missouri Thursday.
Police say no arrests have been made and a search for the shooter is ongoing.
Two Police Officers were around midnight during a protest outside the Ferguson Police Department.
A 32-year-old officer from nearby Webster Groves was shot in the face and a 41-year-old officer from St. Louis County was shot in the shoulder.
The Officers have since been released from the hospital.
St. Louis County’s police chief said Thursday there was a massive ongoing search for the gunman.
