JUST IN: Suspected Ebola Patient At Sacramento Hospital

SACRAMENTO, California — The patient is being treated at UC Davis Medical Center, hospital.

The ill patient was transferred from Dignity Health Mercy General Hospital, the hospital confirmed. Yellow tape was blocking off the emergency room at Mercy earlier in the day.

Security guards wearing masks were seen escorting people away from the area.

The public still has access to parts of the Davis medical center, according to KCRA.

Ebola is a rare and deadly disease caused by infection with a strain of Ebola virus.
The 2014 Ebola epidemic is the largest in history, affecting multiple countries in West Africa.
The risk of an Ebola outbreak affecting multiple people in the U.S. is very low.
