FLORIDA — A street sweeper operator came across bombs, grenades, mortars and M-18s while removing trash in Jacksonville.

The Sheriff’s Office, along with a bomb squad robot and K-9 dogs arrived at the busy Jacksonville shopping center early Saturday.

Bullets were also found on the ground next to the bag of military grade contents.

The Florida Times-Union reports roughly 15 stores and restaurants in the River City Marketplace were blocked while the bomb squad sifted through the contents.

About four hours later, the contents were rendered safe and removed for proper disposal.

Jacksonville is the largest city in the State of Florida by population and the largest city by area in the contiguous United States.

It is the county seat of Duval County, with which the city government consolidated in 1968.
