ARIZONA — The Officers were responding to a domestic violence call late Monday in the town of Morenci, which is northwest of Clifton, authorities said.
The suspect, 29-year-old Chris Ingram left the scene and a traffic stop was made on U.S. Highway 191.
Gunfire was exchanged and the two officers were struck, authorities said.
Ingram was shot and killed by the Officers.
The Police Officers underwent emergency surgery Tuesday and are expected to survive.
Their families are by their sides ,according to the Arizona Star.
