PHOENIX, ARIZONA — 3rd Street & Washington — Area of ‘Super Bowl Central’ —
The suspect told police officers he had weapons in his car.
Upon investigation, officers found a 12-gauge shotgun wrapped up in a towel, a semi-automatic handgun between the front seats and a “military type” knife in plain view.
Authorities say the man was talking incoherently and appeared to be lost and confused.
Based on his behavior, officers took him to have a mental health evaluation.
The vehicle, weapons and the man’s other belongings were impounded for safekeeping.
The man was never arrested, so police are not releasing his name.
