PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLA. –A police officer who responded to the call found the couple in the backyard of their home, their bodies decomposing.
Police called in Sheriff’s investigators to help determine what happened.
It is unknown how long the couple had been dead. Officials have not yet determined a cause of death and are awaiting autopsy results.
A neighbor said the wife suffered from dementia, and the husband was becoming increasingly anxious about it.
“They were a really sweet couple,” a friend said. “I have four children and we would go visit them about once a month, and they would give candy to the children. They were just really sweet. It’s tragic.”
