DEVELOPING: FedEx Driver Shot With Rifle While Sitting In Truck -#MEMPHIS

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) –

The victim is in critical condition.

A FedEx Ground employee was shot while driving a delivery truck.

He was shot around 4:40 p.m. in an area southeast of Memphis International Airport.

According to police, the driver of the truck was parked at the intersection of Holmes and Malone when the suspect got out of a gray or silver minivan and fired a shot from a high-powered rifle, striking the driver in the lower body.

The victim was transported to Regional One in critical condition.

The suspect, who is still at large, is described as a black male, 35 – 40 years old and was last seen wearing a Dallas Cowboys jacket. Police say the suspect is driving a gray or silver 2002 Chrysler Town & Country minivan, tag number TN 633-YKY.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 528-CASH.

FedEx released the following statement:

“Our first thoughts and concerns are with our colleague and we are cooperating fully with the law enforcement investigation.”
