HARRIS COUNTY — HOUSTON, Texas — Several local news stations there are reporting the stabbing of a 4-year-old child.
Harris County Sheriff’s Office officials went to an incident in the 14900 block of James River Lane about 1:15 p.m., according to the Houston Chronicle.
The mother, 23, has been taken into custody.

“A witness called 911 to report the mother was outside striking the boy with an object. She tried unsuccessfully to intervene.
Deputies say the mother was still attacking the little boy when they arrived at the scene around 1:15 p.m.
They tackled her and handcuffed her.
The child suffered multiple stab wounds and investigators found blood inside and outside the house.
“The scene itself was a terrible one for deputies,” said Thomas Gilliland with HCSO. “These are the type of scenes that weigh very heavily on us…” ”
