Two men were killed and at least 11 other people were wounded in shootings across the city on Friday, according to police.

The fatal shootings happened within minutes of each other on the South Side, police said.

About 6:20 p.m., a 19-year-old man was shot in the foot, leg and side during a possible drive-by attack in the 7800 block of South Vincennes. The man, who had documented gang ties, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he later died, police said.

At 6:15 p.m., a man was shot in the head in the 6800 block of South Western. He was taken to Christ Hospital, where he later died, police said. His age and the circumstances of the shooting weren’t immediately available.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office could not immediately confirm either fatality.
