Bronx: Man Fatally Shot In The Face On Longwood Ave On #Thanksgiving Day

New York, New York—Index crimes continue to decline in New York City. When comparing 2015 through October 31st, versus the same period in 2014, crime is down 3.1 percent or 2,817 fewer crimes, the NYPD said.

On Thursday at 6:32PM, police responded to a 911 call of a male shot in front of 976 Longwood Avenue, in the Bronx, within the confines of the 41 Precinct. Upon arrival, responding officers discovered the victim, a 29-year-old male, shot in the torso and face. EMS also responded to the scene and pronounced the male DOA. There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.

The identity of the victim is pending proper family notification.
