SAN DIEGO, California — The suspect, Chelsea Saunders, was stopped along El Cajon Boulevard after reports that she was drunk and verbally harassing customers at businesses.
As the Officer attempted to handcuff Saunders, a physical struggle began and the suspect was reaching for the Officer’s gun.
The gun went off and struck the Officer’s pant leg, the LA Times reported. No injuries were reported.
The woman has been charged with the attempted murder of a police officer.
