COLUMBIA, South Carolina — A student, 17-years-old, plotted a shooting at Dreher High School, Officials said Monday.
The plot was to take place today, Monday, the anniversary of the Columbine High School massacre. Reports say the suspect planned to open fire on faculty members and students at the school.
Investigators found material related to the Columbine shootings on the suspect’s social media sites.
The student had been planning to do harm since January, Officials said. The student was turned over to police with the Columbia Police Department, who in turn had the student committed for evaluation, according to WISTV.
The teen is a student at Heyward Career Center.
The suspect’s name has not been released. It’s also not known if the student had weapons to carry out the attack.
