Wisconsin Dells, WI. – –WXOW reports that the body of John Dwyer, 23, of La Crosse was found early Thursday afternoon along the Wisconsin River.
Shortly after noon, Wisconsin Dells Police Chief Jody Ward said a kayaker reported finding a body in the Lower Dells portion of the river. The body, later identified as Dwyer, was found on a river bank under a rocky cliff, about 1800 feet south-east of the Kilbourn Dam.
According to Chief Ward, Dwyer’s injuries appear related to a fall.
At this time, the Columbia County Medical Examiner’s Office is assisting with the investigation.
Authorities say Dwyer celebrated his birthday with more than half dozen friends Saturday in Wisconsin Dells. Officials say Dwyer was last seen outside a Wisconsin Dells bar early Sunday morning.
