NASHVILLE, Tennessee — [SCROLL DOWN FOR VIDEO] — A Metro police officer in Nashville has been decommissioned after a Facebook video surfaced showing him telling a man he would shoot him in the face.

Officer Brian Birch, who became an officer in March of 2014, was one of the officers who responded to a call on the south side of the city that came from a Mexican Restaurant.

The suspect is 30-year-old Walter Fisher, Jr., a former University of Tennessee football player. Fisher was accused of threatening people with a gun at the business.

From WSMV:  “During the investigation, police determined that Fisher was at the Casa Fiesta restaurant on Bell Road when he saw two people breaking into his car. Fisher, who was wearing the pistol on his waistband, went outside to confront the burglars.

One of the burglars ran away, but Fisher caught the other. Fisher then got the shotgun from his car and was preparing to escort the burglar to a nearby motel in an attempt to retrieve the items taken from his car. In the process, the second burglar broke free and ran away.

Fisher did not pursue the burglars nor did he notify police of the auto burglary. He got into his car and left and that was when he was stopped by police responding to the call.”
