Detectives were sitting in their car when the suspect opened fire in an apparent ambush.
The detectives returned fire, striking the man. He was rushed to a hospital and his condition is unknown.
It’s not clear if any of the Detectives were hit.
According to KTLA, the incident occurred at the 600 block of West 43rd Place, near Figueroa Street.
