North Portland, OREGON — 4000 block/North Kerby Ave. —
A man suffering from a ‘mental health crisis’ has apparently barricaded himself inside a home with at least one woman.
Officers have surrounded the home and unsuccessfully used a car’s public address system to try and make contact with the home’s occupants, according to Oregonlive.com.
The Special Emergency Reaction Team and the Crisis Negotiation Team have been called to the scene.
In a news release, police say they don’t think there is a risk to neighbors in the area of the scene.
Those who have been evacuated have been given shelter in TriMet buses parked near the neighborhood.
