#BREAKING: Escaped Prisoner Captured 1,700 Miles Away With Corrections Officer

    North Dakota — The prisoner, Wesley E. Brown III escaped the Lake Region Law Enforcement Center in Devils Lake on March 13th with the help from corrections officer Rachel Chepulis. The two were captured today 1,700 miles away in Oregon.

    Chepulis was arrested on charges of instigating or assisting an escape, concealing person from arrest and conspiracy to commit escape, WDAY reported.

    From WDAY-TV: A tip was received from a hotel in nearby Coos Bay, Oregon reporting a possible sighting of the fugitives Wednesday afternoon. Within a few hours, Oregon state police located the white 2015 Toyota Rav4 with ND plates KMN-172 believed to be driven by Brown and Chepulis. The vehicle was parked outside a store and surveillance teams were set up nearby.

    Brown and Chepulis were captured without incident when they returned to the vehicle.
