Escawtapa, Mississippi — A girl, 8 has been shot in the neck in Jackson County MS., WLOX is reporting.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital and then airlifted to a Childrens Hospital in Mobile, Alabama.
The girl is listed as critical, the report said.
At least two people are in custody and an investigation is ongoing. No further details were immediately available.
Escatawpa is a census-designated place (CDP) in Jackson County, Mississippi.
It is part of the Pascagoula, Mississippi Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 3,566 at the 2000 census.
