Another Twitter Threat Made Against Southwest Flight This Morning

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Officials areĀ investigating another social media threat made against a Southwest Airlines flight departing from Lindbergh Field.

The threat came from Twitter handle @ISISgangCP and stated: “@SouthwestAIR I have a massive semi-nuclear explosive on-board flight 4200 from San Diego to Dallas. If this fails, I will shoot the plane.”

The threat, via Twitter, was made at 6 a.m. Tuesday against Flight 682 to Dallas, scheduled to leave at 7 a.m., according to airport spokesperson Lauren Bernsen.

No passengers were aboard the plane at the time.

Harbor police responded to the scene to investigate. No evacuations were issued.


Southwest Airlines Co. is a major U.S. airline and the world’s largest low-cost carrier, headquartered in Dallas, Texas.

The airline was established in 1967 and adopted its current name in 1971.
