On Saturday 1st November, the Michigan-born platinum selling musician, Wayne Static, best known for being lead vocalist, keyboardist, guitarist and music sequencer for Industrial Metal and Static-X, passed away on Saturday just three days before his 49th birthday.
Static, who’s hairstyle befitted his name, carved out for himself an extremely successful solo career which showed no signs of ending any time soon as he was due to go on tour over the coming months with Powerman 5000 and Drowning Pool.
Currently, circumstances surrounding the rock star’s death are unclear as his publicist has stated that no other information can yet be divulged. That being said, various news sources have hinted that the death may have been caused by drug use.
Papa Roach’s Jacoby Shaddix also recently tweeted a message which gave seemed to corroborate the rumor while his friend, Micah Electric, drummer of industrial band 9Electric, described him as “a good soul who chose the wrong path.” Further details are expected to be publicized shortly.
